No, not trains. Train! The rock group train. Ever heard of them? The song ‘Meet Virginia' ring a bell. OK, if you don't know what I'm talking about, I guess we don't listen to the same music. But that's OK. Actually having a degree in music, I love just about all music. And one of my favorite songs right now is Train's new hit, ‘Drops Of Jupiter'. Ok, so who cares what music I like. This is a train site, right? Well get it, the band's name is Train.

Several years ago I met a great guy named Jack Monahan. Actually we usher at the 6PM Saturday night mass together. Jack is one of the nicest guys I know. Just a great guy to be around. Well over the years at mass being the good ushers we are, we have the bad habit of conversing at times during mass. Three or four years ago Jack being the proud father he is kept telling me about his son and how good he was doing in this band. I remember when I first heard the name of the group, I commented, nice name! Well, you guessed it, Jack's son is Pat Monahan, the lead singer of Train.

I remember Jack telling me about when Train first got together, and they were visiting in Erie. They hadn't quite figured out what their name was going to be. I guess one day they drove past my store, and it was decided right then and there that Train would be the perfect name for their group. Ok that's not a true story, but it sure would be nice if it was!

At any rate, Jack tells me that their new single ‘Drops Of Jupiter' has already sold a million copies. That is amazing considering their first release sold about the same number after three years or so. Good luck Train. I love your new song! It is going to be a smash!

Well that collection I just purchased is a monster! We have a fairly big basement for storage of collections, and it is pretty much full of trains. I had to bring it back from the Milwaukee area in a 24 foot truck. It will take me several weeks to process the collection, so please check back frequently. I'm committed to get as much processed each day as at all possible, so you will find new items in the ‘new stuff' area all the time.

A funny thing happened the other day when I was down stairs in the basement getting some merchandise to process. I heard this choo-choo and a chug-chug-a-lug, and well, it just kept on going. At first I thought it was coming from upstairs, but then realized that it was actually coming from the other side of the room. Sort of an eery feeling when I realized that. I thought maybe it would stop eventually, but it just kept on going. Now the big problem was that the other side of the basement is filled with boxes around 10 feet wide, 10 feet deep, and probably 8 feet high.

After getting over to the other side I realized that the chug-chug-a-lug was coming from the very back of the pile of trains. It took me a while, but finally I weaseled back to the back of the pile from the side. After moving a whole bunch of boxes, I finally found the box that the noise was coming from, and pulled it out, careful not to start an avalanche. You see I value my life, and I didn't want to end up at the bottom of a pile of trains!

After digging through that box I found a choo-choo clock, which is now sitting on my desk. Thank goodness you can take the batteries out, so now it only serves as a clock. But I already have a clock, so I think we'll put this one up for auction. So make sure you visit to bid on that choo-choo clock.

Lionel is at it again. I received a letter from them this past week that was sent to all service stations. Thank goodness I am grand fathered on this one. I guess all future Lionel service stations are going to have to go to school for electronics. Ok, I admit I never went to electronic school, nor would I. I guess if it came down to it, if Lionel pushed it, I would become an ‘Unauthorized Lionel Service Station' like that guy in Akron did years ago when Lionel let him go.

But in a way, although it is far fetched to think that someone would go to electronics school to earn the little money that Lionel pays to fix their trains, it is good to know that they are trying to get some direction. I'm just not sure which direction it is that they are headed!

Well I'd better keep this one short. I have a whole lot of work to do over the next several weeks. Please check out the new inventory on this site and as well.
