Dear Charles:
I received a large order from you yesterday. Thanks.
I haven't run the Chessie T-1 yet, but it is a beauty.
The Conrail Mercury trailers on the Burlington TTUX are also very nice
looking- as you indicated when I was ordering.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ted Sgouros
P.S. I like the "New Stuff" listing on the Web site, and I
particularly like the new "Quantity" listing that you have now
included in the listings. This is useful information for a buyer to
have. Sometimes I am interested in multiples of the same item. It also
permits me to plan out purchases if multiples are available. Keep up
the good work.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for the heads-up note. I think your web site and your
continually improving e-practices are the "cats meow".
PS: If you come to San Fransicso Bay Area, please give me a call. I'll
buy you a beer.

The package arrived safely. Nothing appears to be damaged.
I am pleased with what I received. Most sellers overgrade the things they
are selling. In my opinion you graded these pieces as exactly what they
are.
Thanks,

Track arrived today AOK. No, better than ok. Everything looks first class, from the packaging to the merchandise. On top of that, you throw in extra! CLASS ACT, Train City. I'll be paying extra attention to your sales.
Thanks

Charles... The new look to your Web site is great. We have both been around
the web for a few years and we understand building a site is an evolutionary
process. It has been fun watching your site grow. I think the new search
page will pay rich dividends.
Now all that buttering up is for a single purpose. If you come across a
Lionel/Dept56/Allied Trains caboose, please let me know.

The R-O-W transformer is exactly what I was looking for. Everything
works perfectly. I have bookmarked your web site and will refer to it
frequently.

Charles, I recived my order on monday and it was in fine shape. The
color match was perfect. Once again your price and grading of you stock
is the best. If you have it in stock and i'am looking for that piece
there is no point in looking any where else your price is always the
best. Dennis

Charles,
I recently bought a train using your on-line system and everything worked
super! I was impressed but thought you might have missed an opportunity.
Since I have bought more "than one paycheck's worth of trains" from you over
the past few years, I could probably be considered a loyal customer (which I
am). But since I resumed buying from you via Internet, you have resumed
sending me a hardcopy listing of trains for sale. That cost you all the
associated mailing and reproduction costs -- which was unnecessary since I'm
logging in on a regular basis. Make sense? Save your money; I'll still
access your list of trains--electronically. Deal?

You asked on your survey if prices are fare or not. I would like to
comment.
I find your pricing fare to a little high (just a little high).
Train shows will yield better pricing but most engines have been worked
on, changed around or screwed up. Many times what you buy is not what you
get. I know I have a box full of junk from the shows which I thought I
had gold when I bought it. It's to find the defects when you have to make
a quick decision.
All engines I have purchased from you have been in original
condition or (as you have so noted) in other words not screwed around
with. I'm fussy and want to do my own cleaning, repairs, and touch up
painting. 90% of all repairs I have seen done by the part timers is just
plain crap and it takes twice as long to straighten out the mess.
The other fun part about doing business with you is the surprise. A
few weeks ago I bought a lowly 1666 from you in very good condition. Upon
arrival I find a 52 year old engine basically in NEW UNUSED but
scratched. Your rating was correct because of the scratches but it was a
nice surprise to get an unused engine. Oh, don't worry you didn't give
away the farm - the engine is still only worth the 129.00 because it is
not popular(under rated engine). But it is nice to have a new 52 year old
engine sitting on my desk.
Anyway prices may be a little high but you get my vote and my
business. At a train show I can't return items, but if you sell me junk
(which you don't) I can send it back. I like the surprise factor and the
fact you are to damn busy to even think of cleaning or repairs on what you
sell........
Thanks

[1] I just received the #9278 Lifesavers Tank Car.
[2] I was amazed at how fast you fulfilled my order.
[3] I was even more amazed at the condition of the car that you had
listed as "dust". As far as I am concerned, this car is in next to near
mint condition and when you couple that with the price of $119.00, I got
one hell of a bargain.
[4] As I mentioned on the phone, I am an operator and everything gets
run with no exceptions. All the money in the world couldn't part me
from any piece of my collection. I would get no thrill out of looking
at a box sitting on a shelf.
[5] I wanted to thank you and I can assure you that I will be a regular
visitor to your website when I am looking for additions to my inventory.

I recently rekindled my interest/passion in trains and had a layout
professionally built. I purchased several items over the internet from
various vendors to place on the layout. I want to personally thank you
for your scrupulous grading practice for the items listed for sale. I
purchased a 282 Gantry Crane and was pleasantly surprised that it
surpassed what I expected to receive. The condition was truly excellent,
and the item worked perfectly when installed. The price was not only
fair, but much better than what other vendors were selling it for in
lesser condition at some of the train shows I attended.
Unfortunately I did not have the same experience with some other items
that I purchased from different vendors on the Internet. I think it is
great that there are vendors out there like yourself who are real
enthusiasts. It makes the hobby much more enjoyable to know there are
individuals out there who are not just interested in selling an item but
are also interested in fairness and making the hobby that much more
enjoyable. I went to my first York show the other week and it is great
to meet people who have one abiding interest, their love of the hobby.
Thanks,

I wanted to drop you a short note in reference to the set that I ordered
from you this past Tuesday. I placed my first order with you for the 2190W
Santa Fe passenger set on the 6th and it arrived today, the 8th. I was
really surprised about the short amount of time it took to get here but
even more so with the set itself. The set is just as you indicated in your
e-mails. It is a very nice set indeed and I am quite pleased with your
grading and description of the boxes, cars, end flaps, etc. I just wanted
to let you know of my satisfaction with your company and to let you know
that I will definitely be ordering from you again.
Thanks

Sometimes "mint" is much less than expected, but both of these catalogs
are perfect.
Thanks very much.

I PLACED MY FIRST ORDER WITH YOUR COMPANY JUST THE OTHER DAY.
I WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW HELPFUL THE LADY WAS WHO ANSWERED
THE PHONE. I AM INTERESTED IN MARX TRAINS AND YOU HAD A BUBBLING
WATER TOWER ADVERTISED. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE SO I HAD SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT
THIS ITEM. THE LADY WAS VERY PLEASANT AND, AFTER CHECKING TO BE SURE THE ITEM
WAS STILL IN STOCK, TOOK THE
TIME TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS ABOUT SIZE, COLOR, AND CONDITION.
THESE DAYS IT'S SOMETIMES HARD TO FIND A PERSON WHO IS WILLING

Dear Charles,
Thank you very much for processing my order and shipping it promptly.
The 6220 switcher arrived Friday in good order. I believe that it was
graded accurately and fairly, and I am absolutely pleased with the unit.
Your service is great! I read your comments about a fellow customer
who didn't like your pages. Change is good when it is for the better,
and your website is definitely BETTER. It is very easy to navigate, and
now that with the Netscape problem resolved, very user friendly.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I will be purchasing from you again.

Charlie,
The Shay just arrived. It's as described, if not better! As mentioned
earlier, I've been an active Lionel Collector for almost thirty years, and,
in fact, have operated, solely in support of this "hobby", Lionel Service
Station #1 from my home since 1969. I confess to having been somewhat
nervous regarding this whole process, primarily due to my concern for the
owner of the collection, not to mention my out of pocket cash exposure.
I've had many very positive "train deals" along with some that were not so
positive. I can truly say that, under the circumstances (dealing for a
friend, what I consider to be a significant amount of money, shipping such a
large volume, sight unseen, to someone I've never met) I've never had a more
positive experience. You've been an absolute pleasure to deal with and I
sincerely hope that the "Collection" has met your expectations. I hope that
we experience continued contact well into the future, that results in those
positive "train deals" for each of us. Again all my good wishes for this
Holiday Season!

shape as usual. It is always a pleasure to do business with you and your

Also, wanted to thank you for the gift of the 1956 AF Catalog. It was a
pleasant surprise. Although I collect mainly O-27, I remember AF very well
from younger days especially their Santa Fe PA unit which was in the
catalog. It brought back many great memories.
May you and your staff have a very Happy Holiday Season and a Wonderful New
Year!

Charlie,
Just wanted to drop you a line and say how pleased I am with the items I
purchased from you. I have been checking out your Web site from many months
and spotted 2 items recently that I was interested in buying. I ordered the
first one, Lionel SF set #11530, and was pleased to find it
came exactly as listed. I then purchased a #6828 Harnischfeger crane car
and was delighted to find it came in better shape than I had anticipated. I
thought prices were reasonable for both items, and delivery was 2 days on
both as promised. As I am sure you know, purchasing collectibles such as
Lionel postwar items sight unseen can be a tricky process, but after buying
these 2 items from your company I would not hesitate to do again. Keep up
the good work.
Sincerely,
Mike Riley

Return-Path: Dear Sirs: I just wanted to take a moment here to thank you
for your quick response to my inquiries and my orders here in Barrow
Alaska. I have been dealing with you for about six months now and have
you a very professional business to deal with. I have had an interest
in Lionel Post War items for about 20 years now and have been lucky to
find you as a source for these items. Many of these items were in my
family years ago but an older brother acquired them
as the years went by. How many times this has probably happen will
never be known but I have enjoyed collecting the exact items I once had
and I am almost complete now. I look forward to acquiring new items as I
come across them on your web site and I am still looking for the #356
operating freight station but then again I find that half the one is waiting
for something to appear.
Again Thank You and I look forward to future patronage with you.
